A camera beat chart and additional analysis for the 2nd Mountain Village mission.
See the whole series of articles on the Camera page. "Read More" for details.

Picture
Each minute of the 2nd Mountain Village mission, broken down into the camera types found within it (see analysis below for details)
The return to the Mountain Village area emphasizes exploration and collectables, and therefore does not use many cameras outside of the basic set required for gameplay. Now the player has new tools like rope arrows and can access areas overlooking the original Mountain Village level. The most interesting part about this experience is the breadth and depth it adds to a mostly linear game.
The major lesson is that it is acceptable to fall back on to basic gameplay cameras when the pace changes to allow the player to slow down and explore.
Narrative-focused players can rush on to the Chasm Monastery; however, for those who want to play with the systems or hunt collectibles, this break from back to back non-interactive sequences is refreshing.
Camera Time by CategoryExploration focus with mostly follow, few cines
Exotic cameras refer to the zipline and balance cameras as well as custom or rarely used cameras
Static-facing cameras are  better versions of the industry standard static cameras. Includes camera pulls and shots with movement/rotation on one axis
NIS include transitions and any unresponsive shots
Follow cameras are driven by mouse or stick input
Climbing cameras support the climbing features

I am happy to know that the movie did well in terms of sale. That means that all the hard work has paid off!
